For 33 years, Khemosabi happily made all of us more aware of the beauty, the usefulness, the durability, and the romance and enchantment of the Arabian Horse. He accomplished this with dignity, with a light heart, and always in a sense of fun, whether he was winning in the show ring, dazzling the crowd in a stallion parade, showing off as the star of his birthday parties, walking to the breeding barn, or just standing in his stall panhandling carrots.

Through his showing, his siring, and his retirement years, he acquired the telling labels of his lifetime:

Laura Cronk (in 1997), Khemo's "person" at Rancho Valle Del Sol, where Khemo lived the last 10 years of his life.

"What a thrill to walk into the barn each morning, for the first conversation of the day with Khemo. We had our daily routine, our walk. First, I took him to talk to the mares and he loved his job. He was turned out to play and to graze in his paddock, then he was groomed and got an entire bag of carrots. Khemo was so reflective of the Husband family that owned him: gracious, entertaining, and loved to make people happy. They raise him well. And of course, he is more people than horse."

"Khemo averaged 30- plus visitor per month, people from all over the world. Some did "Thanksgiving and Khemosabi," others 'Christmas and Khemosabi." Others planned their vacations to include a visit to Khemo. I (Laura) just functioned as his personal assistant and social director. "
